Karen Blixen: An Expatriate Life

The Copenhagen Cultural Network and The Copenhagen Main Library invited people to the first of several events focused on international literature.

The first program featured Karen Blixen, one of Denmark’s greatest writers, and focused on her book “out of Africa”. The event took place at the Main Library on the 29th of March in English, with listeners from many different countries.

The program started with an introduction by Steve Pickering (SPConsult). There were selected readings from Blixen's "Out of Africa" and Guest speaker Anders Bo Schreiner (former curator of the Karen Blixen Museum) gave a talk about Karen Blixens life in Kenya and her connection with Africa. Finally Barrett Clemmensen Powell (Humanity Institute) gave a presentation on the Copenhagen Cultural Network. It was a great evening
