About BIBLIOTEKET Rentemestervej
The name is BIBLIOTEKET, but behind the house's architecture of stacked books wrapped in gold, it also encompasses a wealth of cultural activities, creative workshops, room rentals, Citizen service, and café. BIBLIOTEKET is a cultural hub for the Bispebjerg district, embracing a wide range and serving a diverse district with different citizens of all ages.
About the Library
COBE architects, together with the studio Transform, designed BIBLIOTEKET. It opened in May 2011, and since then, the house has been a local hub and gathering point for the neighborhood. From the top of Rentemestervej, the building stands out from the industrial buildings and apartment blocks that characterize the neighborhood. Bispebjerg is a truly diverse district with citizens of all ages, which we cater to with our offerings and opportunities. The workshops have creative facilities within screen printing, textile, graphic, photo, fine arts, and ceramics. Here, you’ll find unique opportunities to express your artistic and creative self.
Volunteers play a significant role at the library. They contribute to a wealth of activities, such as study and IT café, knitting club, children's chess, and creative gathering café.
We have rooms for rent, ranging from a cozy meeting room to a large concert hall. On the ground floor is our popular café FLOK Canteen. And then, of course, all our books and activities in the library section.
