Abstract: Bioinformatics is a field that applies the power of computer processing and big data to the study and description of biological systems.Computer algorithms are often used in bioinformatics to help process large, complex data sets, sometimes with the aid of artificial intelligence, including machine learning.Omics studies?those that describe and quantify cellular components?used in bioinformatics include genomics, metagenomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, and proteomics.Structural bioinformatics involves predicting the structure and function of macromolecules, such as DNA, RNA, and proteins.Bioimage informatics uses techniques in microscopy, MRI, and radiology to extract information about biological systems from images.Bioinformatics uses network analysis to examine global interactions and biological associations, including those of macromolecules, cells, tissues, and organisms
