About the Library

Sydhavnen Library is located in the Karen's Minde Culture House, a truly unique place filled with experiences for the entire family. The library is open every day from 8 am to 8 pm and has a wide selection of books to take home – or enjoy with a cup of coffee in the cafe or in the park.

Throughout the year and especially in the summer, we host a lot of events so drop by for tango in the Dance Pavilion, poetry at the Sydhavnen Literature Festival or children's theater at the children's festival ‘Kultur for en tudse’. And you are always welcome to come by and pet the animals

The library has recently undergone a major renovation, allowing modern use while maintainig respect for the fine, old building. Here, we greet each other, we read aloud and go treasure hunting. We talk about literature, play board games, and enjoy knitting and other social activites.

Several experiences you can initiate yourself. Try, for example, two different audio walks outside written by local authors. Inside you can try a fabulous treasure hunt and a poetic journey library tour.
