How to Support Your Multilingual Child
It is completely normal for children to grow up multilingual. However, parents of multilingual children often have many doubts and questions about how they can support their child’s language development.
Justin Markussen-Brown will discuss
- The two main types of bilingual development
- How long it takes for a child to develop skills in two languages
- The benefits of developing strong language skills in multiple languages during childhood
- Techniques and strategies that parents can use to support their child’s development in their own language, as well as what they can do to support their child’s Danish
- The obligatory Danish screenings that all bilingual children must undergo when they are 3 years old

About Justin Markussen-Brown
Justin Markussen-Brown is a Danish-Canadian linguist who has researched the language teaching practices of Danish educators and the effects of continuing education in language teaching practices. Justin is known for his easy-to-understand and accessible presentation of the complexity of language acquisition. He is also the father of multilingual children himself.
