About Islands Brygge Library

Islands Brygge Library is the smallest but perhaps also the most cozy library in Copenhagen. We are centrally located in the old part of Islands Brygge, just a stone's throw from the waterfront.

About the Library

From the outside, the library might not seem like much, but if you look inside, you will find a newly furnished single-room library with lots of children's and adult books on displays. We have particularly prioritized the children's library, but there is room for everyone – also for those who just want to sit and read todays’ newspaper or browse one of our many magazines.

In addition to literature, we have a lot of activities - including reading clubs, IT cafés, author events and book cafés - where we talk about brand new as well as ancient literature. For the little ones, we frequently have readings, children's theater, and creative events.

At the Library

  • Wi-Fi, computers, and printing facilities.
  • IT help
  • Reading clubs
  • Conversation club for international copenhageners
  • Knitting club

Your Library

The library is accessible every day from 8 am to 8 pm, but service is only available at selected times. Everyone is welcome at the library, but to gain access outside of staffed hours, a yellow health card is neccesary. You also need to be registered as a user of Copenhagen's libraries to borrow our materials and use our computers.

Buses stop right in front of the library, and Islands Brygge Metro Station is within walking distance.
