About Nørrebro Library

Welcome to Nørrebro Library

Our main entrance is located at The Red Square and faces Nørrebrogade. We have everything you normally expect from a public library. Plenty of new  books, a lovely space to spend time in, and friendly and competent staff. We offer a wide range of regular activities and many interesting events for both children and adults.

About the Library

Nørrebro Library is located together with Nørrebrohallen and the café "Send flere krydderier" in a beautiful old building originally serving as a tram depot. The walls are adorned with paintings created by the Danish artist Eske Kath. The library accommodates both children and adults in the same high-ceilinged room.

The library is well-visited by people of all ages and can at times be quite noisy. We have an exhibition wall with changing exhibitions. We strive to welcome initiatives and ideas that fit within the libraries purposes and framework.

Unfortunately, we do not have the possibility to lend/rent out rooms. Our activity room is reserved for library-relevant activities open to all interested.

At the Library

  • Wi-Fi ( "Publikum" no access code), public PCs (requires membership of the library), and print
  • Children's area
  • Study cafe and homework help for both children and young people/adults
  • Conversation clubs in many languages
  • Free legal aid once a month
