About Ørestad Library

Ørestad Library is a public and school library with a bright and open design where books, activities, and dissemination are the focal point. Additionally, Ørestad Library annually hosts many events for the citizens of Copenhagen held in the local area or at the library. Ørestad Library opened on June 7, 2012.

About the Library

Ørestad Library offers all traditional public libraries services eg. plenty of events, especially for children and families, book displays with the latest releases, a fine collection of magazines and journals, and a handful of newspapers. During staffed opening hours our library hosts will guide and introduce you to our book collection and digital offerings.

Our collection is part of the shared collection of Copenhagen's libraries - and most can be ordered to Ørestad Library from bibliotek.kk.dk or bibliotek.dk.

Screens near the entrance provide an overview of offerings, activities and search capabilities within the collection. Non-fiction for children and adults is located on first floor and is only accessible during staffed opening hours.

Your Library

The library is a single-room library with space for everyone. Our interior design consists of various play, lounge, and study zones in beautiful, bright rooms. The atmosphere is vibrant - we strive to ensure there is space for most people. Events and activities for children and adults are organized throughout the year. On the first floor, one can find a somewhat quiet study environment.

Food and drinks can be enjoyed at the library. We ask that everyone cleans up neatly and take care of the books and interior.
