About the Library

Tingbjerg Library\Culture House provides a space for a wide range of social and cultural activities in Tingbjerg. The house is directly connected to Tingbjerg School, and this close connection not only creates a school library with access to the entire country's collection of materials but also contributes to creating a lively house where there is room for everyone.

Tingbjerg Library\Culture House was developed in collaboration with residents, associations, and employees in the district, in a partnership between the Municipality of Copenhagen and the two public housing associations fsb and SAB. The collaboration between various stakeholders created the foundation for how to work with citizen involvement and co-creation in the development of exciting cultural offerings for all Copenhageners.

Tingbjerg Library\Culture House was designed by COBE and opened in 2018. The house is built with great respect for the surrounding buildings and the district's aesthetic expression. Tingbjerg was designed by architect and urban planner Steen Eiler Rasmussen and landscape architect C.TH.Sørensen in the 1950s, with the vision of creating a cultural mini-city in green surroundings. The district is today classified as a conservation-worthy settlement and is a unique work in Danish architectural history.
