About renewals

Learn about our guidelines for renewal of library materials.

Renewals can at the earliest be made 7 days prior to the return date.
The loan period can be renewed a maximum of two times.
Loans can be renewed at all our libraries in Copenhagen - not just at the library where the loan was checked out.
In case of online renewals at our website, in our app or by calling the library no receipt will be issued. You can always check your current patron status on our website and in the app.

If loans can't be renewed

If a loan can not be renewed on our website a yellow bar will appear with the following message: "Materialet kan ikke fornys". This is often due to the fact that another patron has placed a hold on the material or that you have reached the renewal maximum for the loan.
If the loan period has been exceeded you will be charged with a late fine.

Renewals: Interlibrary loans

Interlibrary loans can be recalled by the library of origin if another patron has placed a hold on the material.
In this case you will receive a notification with a new return date.
Interlibrary loans made through The Copenhagen Libraries must always be returned to one of our libraries.
